The 2024 renewal of a North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license requires meeting the Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) conditions, including:
Licensees must complete at least one Professional Development Hour (PDH) in this area. Topics covered may include ethical concerns, codes of conduct, risk management, and project management.
Licensees must complete 15 PDHs every 12 months.
Licensees must keep detailed records of all PDH activities, including course descriptions, dates, presenters, and proof of attendance.
The North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Land Surveyors (NCBELS) conducts random audits to ensure compliance.

Licensees can renew their license online or by credit card. If they choose to pay by check, the renewal is not complete until the Board processes the payment.
