North Carolina 2024 Professional Engineer License Renewal Deadline is December 31. Get your required PE CPC before the deadline.

The 2024 renewal of a North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license requires meeting the Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) conditions, including:
- Ethics or Rules of Professional Conduct
Licensees must complete at least one Professional Development Hour (PDH) in this area. Topics covered may include ethical concerns, codes of conduct, risk management, and project management.
- Annual PDHs
Licensees must complete 15 PDHs every 12 months.
- Record keeping
Licensees must keep detailed records of all PDH activities, including course descriptions, dates, presenters, and proof of attendance.
- Audits
The North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Land Surveyors (NCBELS) conducts random audits to ensure compliance.
Other ways to earn PDHs include:
- Active participation in professional societies or accrediting organizations
- Educational outreach activities related to professional licensure
Licensees can renew their license online or by credit card. If they choose to pay by check, the renewal is not complete until the Board processes the payment.
