Montana requires 30 PDHs per biennium and allows up to 15 PDHs to be carried forward in excess of the 30 PDHs required.

Montana does not approve providers of continuing education or courses but retains final authority with respect to final approval of continuing education content or activities and defines what is acceptable as the following:
Any qualifying course or activity with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice.
