Kentucky Licence Renewal Requirements

Kentucky requires 30 PDHs of continuing education per biennium and allows 15 PDHs in excess of the 30 to be carried over to the next biennium. Kentucky does not approve providers of PE continuing education or courses but requires courses to:
- Provide specific content to improve the professional engineer’s competence;
- Encourage acquisition of new skills and knowledge required to maintain competence;
- Strengthen the professional engineer’s critical inquiry and balanced judgment; and
- Raise the ethical standards within the professional community.
Licensees are required to certify completion of the requirements at the time of renewal, and 5% of the licensees will be audited to ensure compliance.
