Florida 2020 Professional Engineer License Renewal Advanced Courses

Florida Professional Engineers are required to complete 18 hours (no longer 8) of continuing education in these categories:

• 1 PDH on approved Florida Law and Rules course
• 1 PDH on approved course on engineering ethics
• 4 PDH on the Professional Engineer's Area of Practice subjects
• 12 PDH on topics pertinent to the practice of engineering (new requirement)

If conducting engineering in design of works or systems covered by the Florida Building Code, a PE PDH course designated as “advanced” by the Florida Building Commission and approved by the FBPE must be completed within one year of the effective date of the Florida Building Code.
