Florida PE Renewal Timeline
- Florida PE License Renewal Period: The renewal period for all Professional Engineers licensed in Florida opened on November 5, 2024.
- Florida PE Renewal Deadline: The last day to renew your PE license is February 28, 2025. PE Licenses not renewed by this date will become delinquent on March 1, 2025.
Florida PE Continuing Education Requirements
- General Requirements: FL Professional Engineers must complete and report their continuing education (CE) hours by midnight on February 28, 2025. The required FL PE CE hours include:
- 18 hours of continuing education: This includes one hour of Florida Laws and Rules, one hour of professional engineering ethics, and four hours related to the licensee’s area of practice.
- Advanced Building Code Course: Required for those FL Professional Engineers involved in the design of engineering works or systems covered by the Florida Building Code.
Special Provisions for New FL PE Licensees
- First-Time Renewals: If you received your first Florida PE license between March 1, 2023, and February 28, 2025, you are only required to complete a Board-approved laws and rules course, an engineering ethics course, and pay the renewal fee. The other 16 hours of continuing education are not required for this PE license renewal cycle.
Fees
- Renewal Fee: The renewal fee for a current/active FL PE license is $49, which includes a $5 fee to combat unlicensed activity.
- Delinquent Fee: If your FL PE license becomes delinquent, an additional $25 fee will be added to the renewal fee.

- Verify CE Completion: Ensure that your Florida Laws and Rules course has been reported to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) by your CE provider.

- Log In to MyFloridaLicense.com: Use your existing account to log in. If you have never renewed online, you will need to set up an account using your Social Security number.
- Submit Renewal: Follow the step-by-step instructions on the Floria DBPR website to complete your renewal. Once submitted, a PDF of your renewed license will be emailed to you.
