PDHNow and Engineer Educators are proud to release another new PDH continuing education course by Steven Vitalie, Ph.D., PE. Check out this PE license reneal course in LNG safety.
Dr. Vitale has a multi-faceted energy industry engineering management and services background, including Vice President and Chief Engineer of the KeySpan Energy Delivery Companies, gas system engineering & LNG production, training & development, University teaching, and Research and Development, including hydrogen reformation for use in synthetic natural gas plant operations, Phos Acid, Polimer, and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell development and demonstration. He headed up the technical exchange agreements between Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, British Gas, Gaz de France, and Rurh Gas for the hydrogen reformation and fuel cell research, development, and demonstration of international programs. Further, he played a significant role in directing the Gas Technology Institute's “Industry Technology Advisory Committee” and the Institute of Gas Technology's “Sustaining Membership Program,” running the research funding of hydrogen production and fuel cell development and demonstration.
His expertise is based on over 50 years of natural gas utility industry experience, including fuel cell development and demonstration activities, maintenance of hydrogen reformation systems, and maintenance and operation of such systems, including, in particular, maintenance and operation of hydrogen compression systems for utilization in high-pressure hydrogen applications. Dr. Vitale’s expertise includes the application of engineering principles to the design, construction, and maintenance of natural gas to hydrogen to fuel cell systems. He was later in charge of maintaining and operating a hydrogen reformation plant. He has comprehensive experience leading and teaching engineers, technicians, and students to think creatively and do “what-if planning” while developing their skills and abilities to build community-friendly, safe, and reliable energy systems. His emphasis on teaching others to apply new technology (fuel cells, NGVs, LNG peaking systems, etc.) to solve utility problems has been a core competency. He developed novel methods for testing hydrogen reforming systems.
This 4-hour Professional Engineer PDH Course details what every PE needs to know about Liquified Natural Gas Safety.
